Notes and Afterword:

1. Japanese buses (Hino HS3K and Nissan Diesel U31) have their engine emissions denoted in Japanese context. I believe that the emission standards should be shown in this way instead of the previous EEC ones in Sgwiki, largely due to the fact that these buses came from Japan and not a EU country/built conformed to EU standards and also the specific EEC emissions were not found.

2. Hino HS3K models are JDM designated HU3K. H denotes horizontally mounted engine (longitudinal). U denotes air suspension and 3K denotes the engine model as K13U.

3A. It is argumented whether TIB905Y unit is the same as the other HS3K units in the SMRT fleet. The K13U engine (evolved from the EK200 but no technical changes) is divided into two emission batches of Heisei 0 (平成元年排出ガス規制) (1990AD) and Heisei 6 (平成6年排出ガス規制) (1995AD). If the difference in model number (RKA vs RKK) does denote the difference in emissions then TIB905Y would belong to the Heisei 0, and the rest of the buses, Heisei 6 Emissions. JDM models use prefixes U- to denote Heisei 0 Emissions and KC-, Heisei 6 Emissions.
3B. Continuing on, the model letters RKA/RKK cannot be found in the Japanese models. These letter positions are used to denote wheelbase and emission/handbrake in the Japanese models. A break-down of them in the U/KC-HU3K.

M would mean 5.2-meter wheelbase. Other wheelbases include J for 4.4, L for 4.8 and P for 5.67 meters.

KC-HU3KMCA CA would mean Heisei 6 Emissions, air operated handbrake. Other designations include AA for Heisei 0 Emissions, air operated handbrake, AH for HT/HU2M series HIMR, CH for RU1J HIMR, EP for Hybrid Bus/air and hydraulic brakes, and FP for Hybrid Bus/air brakes. Designation not applicable to (wheelchair) lift-equipped low floor buses.

4. Nissan Diesel U31 RCN models are JDM designated K-U31 N. K- denotes the Showa 54 Emissions (昭和54年排出ガス規制) (1980AD). U31 series carry Nissan Diesel PE6H engines (4 stroke 6 cylinders), originally rated at 180PS for railway car (LE-Car) use. Buses carry the uprated 230PS version. N denotes the wheelbase as 5.5 meters. Other wheelbase versions are K (4.76 meters) and L (5.1 meters).

5. Most of the public buses here carry inline-6 engines, with the exception of the Scania K230UB with inline-5 engine.

6. Gearboxes on specific buses are often hard to track. I provided the basic information for the models that could be confirmed, but for vehicles that had its gearbox changed, it would be updated as soon as information is avaliable.
